Session Details

  • How might counselling help me?

Counselling provides a confidential and supportive environment to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional. It can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, identify your own solutions, and develop coping strategies. The focus is on helping you find your own path, without giving direct advice, because when have we ever listened to random advice?

  • Will I have to talk about difficult issues?

You won't be forced to discuss anything you’re uncomfortable with until you are ready. However, counselling can involve exploring serious and often painful topics to achieve what you are looking for. On the contrary, counselling can also be something else; for example, venting about your week by sharing frustrations can be very beneficial.

  • Is it confidential?

Yes, everything you share in counselling is confidential, with a few sensible exceptions which will be discussed in your first session.

  • Do you offer face-to-face, online, or telephone sessions?

I believe face-to-face offers the best value for money and allows for the potential for better therapy. However, I understand that it is not always feasible or desirable to have face-to-face counselling, which is why I also offer solely online or hybrid sessions via video chat, and by telephone.

  • How long are the sessions?

My sessions last the full 60 minutes. Other counsellors generally opt for 50, however, I like to offer value by providing the full hour. Sessions start promptly and end on time, even if you arrive late.

  • How often will we meet?

Sessions typically occur weekly, on the same day and time each week. But I believe in flexibility. If we are coming to the end of our work, we can decrease the regularity of sessions, and likewise, if you want biweekly sessions at the start of our work together, we can arrange that.

Fees and Policies

  • How much does it cost?

Sessions are priced at £50 each, payable in advance via bank transfer or cash. Block booking discounts and Concessionary rates are available.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session will incur the full fee, except in exceptional circumstances.

  • What if I'm running late?

Please inform me if you're running late. If possible, we can still use your full session time, but often the session will end as scheduled.

  • What if I need to rearrange my session?

With enough notice, we can work out temporary or permanent changes together. Cancellations within 24 hours will still incur the session fee. Frequent cancellations may require pre-payment to secure future appointments.

  • Can my sessions be ended early by the therapist?

If there is any abusive behaviour towards me, the therapy may be terminated immediately. Consistent attendance is crucial; sporadic sessions may not be beneficial. If you cannot commit to regular sessions, it may be best to postpone therapy until you can. goes here
